Dr. Ehlert grew up in Wausau, Wisconsin, the youngest child of a secretary and elementary school teacher. She decided to become a doctor at age 8. She was valedictorian of her 450-member high school class and graduated with honors in three years from Northwestern University.
Dr. Ehlert returned to Wisconsin for medical school and was drawn to Facial Plastic Surgery because of her love of fine handwork and as a way to help people maintain confidence at every stage of life. As a pre-requisite to training in Facial Plastic Surgery she completed a residency and Board Certification in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. She was among an elite few selected each year for training as a Facial Plastic Surgeon and moved to St. Louis to complete her Fellowship at Washington University. She entered practice in 1990 and achieved certification by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1994. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and authored several chapters in textbooks of facial plastic surgery.
Dr. Ehlert is consistently named a “Best Doctor” by her peers in St. Louis Magazine.
Dr. Ehlert is married to Don Arnold, MD and has three children. As a working mother Dr. Ehlert understands how difficult it can be to juggle the many commitments of career and family. She appreciates and very much enjoys the ongoing relationships she has with her patients, some of whom she has seen regularly for more than 20 years!
