“Fillers can restore a more youthful look to the face. The results are immediate and can be quite significant.” – Tamara Ehlert, MD
As we age, we lose the fullness in our face. Lines and hollows appear that make us look old and tired. Injectable fillers can help restore volume, provide lift and soften lines. Fillers can help improve or hide:
- Deepening smile lines (nasolabial grooves)
- “Sad smile” (down-turned corners of the mouth)
- Thin lips
- Lipstick lines
- Under-eye bags
- Under-eye hollows
- Thin, floppy earlobes
- Acne scars
- Under-eye dark circles
- Cheek hollows
- Deep chin crease

Dr. Ehlert uses only biocompatible fillers – those that are made of substances already present in our bodies, and that will, over time, be slowly metabolized and eliminated from the body. This increases safety and lowers the risk of unwanted or allergic reactions. Most of these fillers also stimulate the body to produce more collagen which helps to maintain a longer-lasting, more natural correction.
Restylane® and Perlane® are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. HA is a complex sugar already found in our bodies. HAs are useful in smile lines, at the corners of the mouth, under the eyes and to subtly restore volume around the lips. HAs stimulate collagen production, so the longer a patient uses them, the longer they seem to last. This means that over time, less filler may be needed less often, to provide the same result.
Restylane Silk is a hyaluronic acid filler designed especially for treatment of the lips and the fine, vertical lines around them (“lipstick” lines or “smoker’s” lines). The refined, FDA-approved, smooth gel formulation of Restylane Silk allows for a beautiful, subtle result with precise definition and the smooth, silky lips you’re looking for.
Belotero, also made of hyaluronic acid, is a versatile filler that can be used to treat fine lines as well as many of the lines and hollows treated with Restylane or Perlane.
Belotero and Restylane Silk incorporate naturally into the skin and help to hydrate treated areas while they smooth unwanted lines.
Dr. Ehlert uses a very precise injection technique that makes it possible to for her to soften or eliminate even the tiniest lines or wrinkles.

The effects of Radiesse can last up to 12 months and Radiesse can be combined with Thermage and other fillers as well as Botox or Dysport to provide what has been called an Alternative “Facelift”.
The success of filler injections and, therefore, the satisfaction of patients who receive treatment, depends greatly on the skill and artistry of the injector. Not only is it important how the fillers are injected, but which filler is used and for what purpose. As a surgeon who is intimately acquainted with the face, Dr. Ehlert possess the knowledge, judgment and skill to not only provide you with the most beautiful, natural looking result, but also the safest treatment possible.
Filler injections are performed after use of a topical anesthetic cream and following the application of small ice packs. To limit the risk of bruising Dr. Ehlert may use micro cannulas for injection and recommends that you temporarily discontinue the use of certain medications and supplements (if possible) that can promote bruising. She makes Sinnechi (Arnica Montana), available to her patients, a homeopathic medication that helps to reduce inflammation, bruising and swelling.
